Wonders of the World
Long Beach Dub All-Stars

Dreamworks/skunk - 2001

the first news I had heard about this was negative, so when I put it in the CD player I was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised. Not as dub as their last album ( or their band name!) and contains a few song that aren't quite soothing at all, but straight out punk songs, as well as ska, reggae, dancehall, dub and even a hiphop song or two thrown in there.

This album had all the variety of a sublime album, and with opie's incredible vocal resemblance to the late great Brad of sublime, Wonder of the World sound just like a sublime album! This would be unacceptable except for the fact LBDA started as a tribute to Brad and consists of the remaining members of Sublime and friends.

So I am giving this album the thumbs up, although I know some people would be disappointed with this album , preferring the all dub debut by LBDA, there is still dub on here just not as much I don't know what to say, it's not a dub album, but its still good.

Wonders of the World has been released just in time to be the soundtrack to my summer, "highly" recommended, toke up and be happy.
